Hey Everyone,
I am sitting at the New York public library this afternoon getting ready to start studying for Level III of the CFA exam. I was here with my laptop checking some email when I decided to check out my old blog and see what kind of shape it was in. I actually had some trouble because I couldn't remember my userid, but I eventually had it sent to me and was back in with no trouble. The blog is right how I left it. :-)

I decided to post an update to see if anyone still had me hooked up to their RSS feeds or whatever else you guys have going on. Well, here it is. Drop me a comment if you read this. Otherwise, take care.....

Well everyone, this is pretty much the end of the line.   I was the first person to start the 'new wave' of blogs for my friends back home.  Now I am going to be taking this site down in a couple days.  After a short resurgence of my blog in September, I have pretty much lost all interest in it.  In another month or so I will begin studying for the final level of the CFA exam and I would just end up neglecting this blog even more.  Its been a good run.  But I guess I just like spending my time doing interesting things rather than writing about them.

Maybe down the road I will start a new blog.  Until then, I hope you all have a great holiday season and a happy new year!

This is a bit of a delayed post. Most of you should know, the hated Yankees were eliminated from the payoffs this past Monday. It was a joyous time for all. Well, at least for me anyway. While I wasn't able to talk much trash because of the dismal way the O's ended their season, it was still pretty satisfying. The Yanks and their record $203 million dollar payroll will have to have a long cold winter again this year.

Now I can look forward to the spring again this year and hope that finally the O's can make some needed upgrades. I may be hoping too much, but I always manage to remain positive!

Stayed out too late last night and drank too much...... not feeling so great this morning.....

Corner 51 wasn't that special. The only thing they really changed from Nessa was putting a different colored paint on the walls. I don't really understand what makes them think that they will be more sucessful than Nessa was. They will probably be out of business in less than a year.

Just wanted to post an updated since I haven’t written for a while.  Not too much as been going on.  Work has been progressing well.  I really enjoy it so far.

I watched The Aviator for the first time on DVD this past weekend.  I thought it was a good movie.  Not outstanding, but good.  I am not a fan of Leonardo DiCaprio, but I didn’t think he got in the way of the movie.

Tonight I plan on hooking up with friends for happy hour at Corner 51.  It used to be called Nessa for the past couple years.  Like pretty much every bar in NY, they end up closing down after a while and re-opening under new management with a new name.  I kinda liked Nessa but for some reason, they couldn’t seem to get enough people in there to keep them in business.  It will be interesting to see how they changed the place.

Glenny’s Low Fat Soy Crisps!!!  Barbeque flavor!  Usually I steer clear of snack foods.  I choose not to eat any snacks because if I buy bag of chips or something, I usually end up eating the whole bag in one sitting.  Not good.  I avoid the temptation by never, ever buying any snack foods or deserts to bring home to my apartment.  That way, I won’t end up being a big fat slob and can maintain a decent weight.

However, now that I have found these soy crisps, I might breakdown and buy a few bags for home.  I have been eating them at work in the late afternoons if I am starting to get hungry.  They taste good and are pretty healthy for you.  They have good protein, high is calcium, and low in fat.

Check them out.  They are pretty good!  <end shameless plug>

Well, it is getting to be that time of year again.  My favorite, but also least favorite time of year.  I love Halloween.  I love the costumes and haunted houses and everything that goes along with it.  However, every year I stress over what I am going to dress up as.  I put all this pressure on myself to come up with the perfect costume.  Last year I stressed over it so much that I ended up not getting a costume at all because I couldn’t come up with any ideas that met my own personal expectations.

This year, I hope it will be different.  Since I now have this blog, I am reaching out to get ideas from all of you readers out there!  Help me pick a Halloween costume!  I need ideas people.  Something cool, something that hasn’t been done a thousand times, or at least a new twist on something old.  I am willing to put some money into this project as long as it isn’t too expensive.   I also would rather do something that I can make myself, rather than just buying something off the shelf.

Feel free to post ANY ideas.  Even a crazy idea might spawn something else.  Thanks!

Well, it is really dark.  But here is the picture outside my window from the other night.  You can see the barricade and the car, but that is about it.  You just have to take my word that in the darkness, there are lots of cops with guns. :-)

Well, the UN General Assembly has been meeting the past couple days.  For those of you who don’t know, I live about 50 yards from the UN.  Whenever the UN meets my whole neighborhood goes into lock down mode with barricades and cops everywhere.  President Bush also came to NYC to speak to the UN and whenever that happens, it goes into ultra lock down mode.   My street is like ‘Checkpoint Charlie’ outside.   They got these big metal barricades placed on my street that raise and lower so cars can’t get past without permission.

So anyway, I was working late last night and I got home from work around 9:30pm.  I sat down at my computer when I got home to check my email.  My computer desk sits right next to the windows in my apartment.  After a couple of minutes I hear these screeching tires and a small crash.   I open up my window and looked out and there is this car that was right next to the metal barricade and about 20 cops swarmed around the car with their guys out yelling at the driver to get out of the car.  They opened the door and threw the guy on the ground next to the car and cuffed and search him.  They spent the next several minutes searching the car.

My camera was right on my computer desk so I took a couple of pictures.  They are pretty dark, but I will try to post them up later.  I tried to look on the NYPD blotter from last night to see what the story was, but it wasn’t up there.  I will keep checking to see if they write anything about it and post it here.
